Program Educational Objectives (PEOs) DELL

PEO1: Lingual Competency

To prepare the students as competent* users of the English Language (* equivalent or close to APTIS CEFR level C / IELTS Band Score 8 - 9 / TOEFL Score 100 - 120 / GRE Score 310 - 340 / PEARSON80 - 90 points) through developing their receptive (reading and writing) and productive (listening and speaking) skills.

PEO2: Cultivating Understanding 

To introduce them to the canonical works of English and other literatures, so that they grow profound insight into individual human psyche as well as the collective.

PEO3: Critical Thinking

To inculcate the habit of thinking critically so that they are able to judge between false emotions and the genuine ones, moderate between reason and passion, and apply moral judgments in all trying situations. 

PEO4: Improving Employability

To transform them into effective workforce in inter and multi-disciplinary sectors so that they can find jobs not only in their respective fields of Arts and Humanities, but also in other disciplines.    

PEO5: Serving the Society

To contribute to and develop the nation in the role of competent educators. 

In short, the department aims to enable the learners to think critically as researchers, do material developments, design pedagogical frameworks, and become skilled communicators.
