 (1)  Joined Chittagong University as Lecturer in Department of English on 11     September 1978. Hence total teaching experience is 41 years 11 months 6 days as of today, 17 August 2020. Total time spent in CU, from 1978 to September 2002 and May 2006 to June 2007. Voluntarily retired from CU in January 2008.

(2) Founder Chairman, Department of English Language and Literature (DELL), Premier University, Chittagong. (October 2002 to April 2006)

(3) Dean of Arts Faculty and Head of the Department of English and Humanities. (July 2007 to August 12, 2013.

(4) Vice-Chancellor, Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University, Trishal, Mymensingh. (From 13 August 2013 to 12 August 2017.)

(5) Dean of Arts and Social Science Faculty and Professor, Department of English Language and Literature (DELL). (From 5 November 2017 up to now.)

B.A. (Hons.) and M. A. in English from Chittagong University;

M. A. in English from Lakehead University, Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada;

PhD from Dhaka University.

Shakespeare; Early Modern England and European Renaissance.

Areas of Interests: Shakespeare; American Transcendentalism; Victorian Fiction; Modern British and American Poetry; New Historicism; Feminism and Modernism; Tagore and Nazrul and the Liberation War.

Publications: Numerous articles on English Literature and Bengali Literature.

(8) 3 volumes of short stories in Bengali.

(9) 6 volumes of poetry in Bengali.

(10) 3 volumes of literary essays.

(11) 1 translation of Chekhov’s travelogue: From Siberia.

(12) 2 volumes on Liberation War in English and Bengali, jointly edited.

(13) 6 Edited Journals and Literary Magazines, of them 3 in English.

1) Ekushey Puroshkar from Chittagong University in 1996 for the book, Golpe Golpe Ingreji Shekha.

2) Awarded ‘Eminent Teacher and Poet’ from Ravindra Bharati Vishwabidyalay, Kolkata in 2015.
