LIT Fest 2025 Held at Premier University

Chattogram, February 13, 2025 – The Department of English Language and Literature at Premier University, Chattogram, hosted its first-ever "Lit Fest 2025", a daylong literary festival, at the university’s central auditorium in Wasa. The event was organized by 'DELL Language and Literary Society: Chapter 44' and featured a vibrant lineup of literary and cultural activities.

The festival was graced by the presence of Professor Dr. Mohit Ul Alam, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, as the Chief Guest. The university’s Registrar, Mr. Mohammad Iftekhar Monir, attended as the Special Guest, while Associate Professor Sadat Zaman Khan, Chairperson of the Department of English Language and Literature, presided over the event.

The program was meticulously organized under the supervision of Associate Professor Shahnaz Parvun Shithy and the Coordinator of the 44th batch, Lecturer Md. Mahadi Rahman. Other distinguished faculty members, including Associate Professor Syed Jasim Uddin, Associate Professor Dr. Abdur Rahim, Assistant Professor Md. Solaiman Chowdhury, and Assistant Professor Sumit Chowdhury, were also present.

The festival saw enthusiastic participation from students, featuring literary speeches, poetry recitations, musical and dance performances, and an art exhibition.

Addressing the audience, Special Guest Mr. Mohammad Iftekhar Monir emphasized the significance of such literary and cultural engagements, stating, "Events like this are crucial for nurturing students’ literary and artistic pursuits. I hope this festival will continue to grow in the future."

Chief Guest Professor Dr. Mohit Ul Alam praised the initiative, remarking, "This event holds great depth and serves as a unique platform for students to showcase their creativity. I look forward to seeing it expand in the coming years."

In his concluding remarks, President of the event, Associate Professor Sadat Zaman Khan, extended his gratitude to all involved in making the festival a success.

The event concluded with closing remarks by Associate Professor Shahnaz Parvin Shithy, followed by a certificate distribution ceremony for participants.

With its successful debut, Lit Fest 2025 has set a promising precedent for future literary festivals at Premier University, fostering an enriched academic and creative environment for students.
